Acts 24:10-21
In Acts chapter 23 the apostle Paul stood before the leaders of Israel and confronted their evil ways. The Lord Jesus appeared that night to Paul and told him, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.” The rest of the book of Acts describes Paul’s life under Roman custody as he made his way toward Rome. Along the way he would have opportunities to testify about the Lord he served. Immediately after speaking to the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem chapter 23 tells us that about 40 men bound themselves under an oath that they would not eat or drink till they had killed Paul. The plot was discovered and so Paul was transported under heavy guard to Caesarea. Nothing else is ever said about the 40 men who were going to kill Paul. They did not succeed in their mission. I guess they starved to death.
